We purchased a big man's rocker/swivel recliner from USA Floors in Nacogdoches. It went into an upholstery shop twice and wasn't fixed either time.

We have it against a wall in our dining room just taking up space. If anyone tried to sit in it, it would flip over backwards. It also sits with one side up higher than the other. Oh...so comfortable.

The upholstery shop said they had about 40 or so lane recliners that were messed up. Now USA Floors closed their furniture store, and said they aren't warrantying any of the furniture they sold.

Did Lane sell defective recliners to USA floors? Why doesn't Lane have a contact number on the web? Why should we pay all that money and then have to throw the recliner in the dump?

Lane makes an inferior product and I will never purchase anything else with Lane's name on it. I will not purchase any more flooring from USA Floors either.

This is the second lane recliner we purchased over the years and the first one broke down after 1 1/2 years and was thrown away.

I believe they make an inferior product, charge too much for it, then won't listen to customer complaints.

Location: Tyler, Texas

I am glad I found this after years of use and a breakdown in my Lazyboy big mans chair and multiple repairs I was looking to see if there was a better big man chair out there thanks for the warning. By the way I don't remember ever paying for a lazyboy repair. The chair still looks ok after more than 5 years I think it is actually more than 10 but the some hardware recently snapped and I tipped over backwards so it is up against the wall and my daughter sits in it now until I guess I try to get it repaired again

I've owned 2 Lane Comfort King big man chairs in the last 20+ years. The first lasted me about 10 years with no problem other than I warped the back from leaning to one side all of the time.

The one I have now I bought in 2000. I have had to replace a few broken bolts and the seat bottom frame/spring assembly but it still looks and operates as it always has. My only complaint is that the seat is made for someone in the 6'6" or taller range. It's plenty wide.

Many evenings my wife sits with me on the recliner for a total of about 475 lbs.

I have no complaints with it. :)

I purchased a Lane "Big Man's" recliner about 2 years ago. They have been out to "fix" it about 5 times (under warranty)and I'm currently waiting for the sixth time.

The bolts keep shearing off. They don't use the proper heat treated bolts! The repairman told me he has even contacted Lane about the problem and they won't do anything about it. I'm 6'4" and 300 pounds.

I have been waiting since before Thanksgiving 2011 for the repair. The repairman did call me 2 weeks ago to tell me the mechanism they sent him was missing parts! What a bunch of ***!!!

No more Lane items me. They should be called Lame.

We purchased two Big Man's recliners all leather in 2006.

We had to replace them. The seats both broke down and we were sitting on piece of wood. We had to wrap a towel around the wood.

Lane said they would replace the foam in the seat. We would have to pay for the repairs. We paid $2,200 for the pair. We thought they would last longer than five years.

We even had a bolt break on one and screws fall out of the other one. When you sit down in one put your hand behind you and you can feel the strip of wood.

WE will never buy another Lane product.

We had two Lanes over the past 27 years, one leather and one cordoroy..both recliners held up well. When we moved we bought a Lane Swivel recliner ..fell apart as mentioned all above.

We thought it was something we did and stupidly bought another , only to have the SAME THING HAPPEN ! Yes, we've gotten the parts and just keeps falling apart...DONE WITH LANE !

My Lane Recliner Chair was used daily for 6 months. It was 13 months old when part of the wood frame broke. When I called my dealer he had me call a warranty repair shop who said that part I would have to pay labor for.$100.00.I told him I would do it myself, threw it out 529.00.Now I'am shopping for a new chair. If you buy a Lane chair your a fool.

I purchased my son a lane big man recliner about ten (10) years ago. He is 340 pounds and about lives in this chair.

From time to time a bolt will break and needs replacing. I contacted Lane the first time a bolt broke and they sent me a box with all the hardware that goes under the chair.

I use the parts as I need them. Great chair!

The three stablizing wire rods in my bigman recliner have broken and lets the springs sag? Do you know where I can get the rods my husband said he could put them in.

They have a bolt and nut that holds them to the frame.

any help would be appreciated as the recliner is in good condition other than this. e-mail me

mamajut01@***.com thank you

I purchased my Lane "Big Mans" chair 15 yrs ago. The chair tipped over backwards from day 1. The local shop did their best to modify it with retrofit kits from the factory, but was never right.

It would tip over when I put my hands behind my head while reclined, & had either of my legs partially bent; so I kept them straight & hoped the dog never jumped on.

Had it in the shop every couple of years to replace springs that kept falling off.

Was VERY comfortable to sit in, or I'd have scrapped it long ago.

Now that its time to replace it, I'm going to the "Beast" made by Best Home Furnishings.

I bought two Lane recliners 12 years ago and they are holding up great! Just saying!

I bought a comfort king big man reclianer, the drop in coil failed in two years. Lane Furniture sent me a replacement, that last three years and failed. The drop in coil is not strong enough it keeps braking in the same place.

We purchased one from sears Canada and it was a junk. Muy 3 year old son injured him badly on the metal mechanism where the leg piece extends.

I contacted Lane Furniture several times and there was no response.

They were connecting me from one line to another with no decent solution or help. I svear I will never buy any of their product and will raise the isue to higher channels dealing with product recalls and safety recalls in Canada.

Some of you keep buying Lane which is strange. I have been in the furniture business 27 years and have never had faith in Lane.

I sold LAZBOY for years and while many think it is invincible and it is certainly not. I would recommend a US made Catnapper recliner.

With Steel seat technology and the 77 year experience of the company, you will pay less and get more. Go Catnapper next time.

We too bought a Lane leather couch and an oversized lane leather chair last summer at Ivan Smith in Atlanta Tx and it started falling apart at the seams after 3 months. The sitching and seams, behind the cushons and on the arm of couch. Both pieces are falling apart.Paid almost $2000,00 cash for both. After months, manager of store came and looked at it,took a few months longer untill they came and picked it up to repair couch.Took one month to get it back and we had to go pick it up ourselves, they were in no hurry to get it back to us.

The couch looked like monkeys had fixed it,we could have done a better job!

It was half way repaired. When we called the store, manager would not take our call.Never called us back.Never fixed the oversized chair. We called district manager,he told us they determined it is a case of cuctomer abuse! If sitting on it is customer abuse, then we are Guilty! No one stands behind nothing!

I guess you guys got lemons. I have had my Comfort King for 8-9 years and have had zero problems with it.

I have finally work out the upholstery on the bottom seat cushion (probably because my dog likes to try and make a nest there).

I am a big dude, 6'2" and about 310# so it has take some abuse. I bought it new for $600 and change.

I purchased an oversized recliner chair. For the first couple of months it held up to its name.

However, now it wobbles and leans to one side when a person sits in it. I have wasted hard earned money on Lane product, too.
