Big Man chairs are ***

We bought two Lane Big Man chairs,(I'm 5-10,220,not what I would call a real big man)inside of 4yrs ago. The chairs have each been in the shop twice and I have fixed broken bolts in each one myself. You just sit in the one and the leg rest pops up and you can't get it to stay down. The other one just don't hardly rock period. The repairman that worked on the chairs said Lane is a real pain to deal with and he was'nt lying! Needless to say,we have purchased our last Lane product!

Lane furniture is junk

I purchased a Lane double recliner sofa. After 5 wks, the arm cushion came loose from the wood frame. The poly filled cushions have flattened & the material has stretched. Per customer service "the warranty is for labor & cover to repair only" for 1 year from date of purchase. Customer Service suggested I use the palm of my hand to try to move the poly around in the cushion! I now own a 6 wk old piece of furniture that looks like a 25 yr old piece of furniture. And Lane is supposed to be so good. I will scream it to the world that Lane furniture is junk.

Lane chairs are junk

We have two of lanes "big man" recliners and as of right now neither one works for *** Once you sit down in the one the leg rest just opens up and you can't get it down so you can't even rock in a "rockin' chair. And the other just plain don't rock!! We've only had the chairs maybe 4yrs now and they each have been in the shop twice, and I have replaced broken bolts in each one myself! Junk!! I'm only 5'10",220#,not what I consider a "big man." We bought the chairs from a Wallace furniture store that has since closed it's doors. At the time of purchase,Aug.'09,I believe, we were told that the chairs had a 5yr. warranty. After we finally found a repairman through a different dealer, over a hundred miles away, we had the each of the chairs in his shop twice.Never got charged for nothing. Now when we need more service Lane says that there is no warranty. Then why did they fix it in the first place? Lane just told us that they would send us the mechinisms for the chairs but We would have to install them ourselves!

Never will I buy Lane again.

02/08/2009 spent 2250. on a couch and love seat. Total *** and runarounds. They delivered the reclining couch and the power pack was missing for the heat/massage unit. Spent hours getting run around with excuses and promises of mailing it. Finally demanded it be sent overnight or I was returning it all. Only to find out the heat part is Defective. Try to get them to do something. The store I bought it from confirmed and showed me the dept email to them from Lane that they were to cease selling them, pull floor models off the sales floor and return all to their warehouse for return to Lane. Called Lane...Total denial of the fact it was recalled. Told me I don't know what I'm talking about. Until I faxed them the copy of THEIR email to the store. And threats of hiring a lawyer. After fighting they agreed to pick up ONLY the couch unit. What good is keeping 1 item especially when they wont stand behind the other one. Looks Like Visa will be getting a protest / dispute payment letter.. Wish I had known of this web site before I purchased *** merchandise. Do Your Self A Favor....Steer Clear Of Lane Products.

Won't stand behind furniture

We purchased a Lane leather sectional sofa from Kittles about 4 years ago for about 2,500. The padding in the seats, arms and back is completely broken down. They sent the padding but it is up to us to pay for the labor which is the most expensive part of the repair. It is around $600 to have the foam padding put in. I won't buy another lane product. Kittles also refused to stand behind the labor portion of the repair even though we purchased the extended warranty. This extended warranty is the only reason lane even provided the foam padding.

Recliner keeps breaking but store won't fix or replace

2 years ago we bought a recliner from a local furniture company and we chose Lane because of the manufacturer warranty. A few days/weeks after the 1 year warranty was up the recliner broke; pieces flew everywhere. Took it to the store and manager refused to replace but attempted to fix. recliner worked, but sat crooked and didn't function properly. at year 2 it came apart again and will not recline. we keep our furniture covered so it still looks new. we feel the chair should be replaced. my husband is disabled and needs his recliner. I will probably never purchase another lane product again.

LANE ROXIE SECTIONAL

Purchased a Lane Roxie sectional in December 2010, got it 6-weeks later and have the same complaint as the others have had with they're sectionals, cushions went flat, they look like worn out junk after a few weeks. We bought it at Kaplens Furniture in Ohio, they're customer service is very good, said they would fix it as many times as needed and that Lane was aware of the problem. To bad I could'nt find this web site before we bought it otherwise I would have never went with Lane. Don't know how the other products are but I can tell you I'll find out. Stay away from the Lane Roxie sectional, it's a waste of money.

LANE sofa & loveseat (via JC Penney)

We purchased Lane camel back sofa & loveseat from JC Penney (JCP) in Nov 2011. Exterior fit and finish was excellent.

However, upon very FIRST use, heard and felt something strange in the backrests. JCP customer service sent local repair person to investigate. He removed back fabric and discovered the serpentine spring retainers (one at each end of vertical springs) were not crimped closed which allowed spring (when loaded) to "clunk" back & forth in the retainers. He tried to crimp the lower end with C-clamp but could not reach uppers without serious deconstruction.

Determination: Not field repairable without major work...

Probable cause: 1) Factory employee did not close retainers after inserting spring ends, 2) Quality control "out-to-lunch", 3) Inadequate employee training program. Resolution is pending as of 2/27/11.

Had a similar problem... chair is REAL comfortable BUT mine lasted just over 5 years and the foam is falling out all over the floor constantly and the reclining part broke twice.

I was able to replace a bolt both times but chair is no longer very usable because of the foam falling out... :cry

Cheaply made recliner

My wife and I bought 2 all leather recliners and have had to replace the mechanism in one recliner twice and the other recliner 4 times in the 10 years we have owned them. We are a middle age couple with no kids, so recliners were not abused. The one recliner is so bad now, I am looking for a replacement not only for it but for both. Our LazyBoy recliner that is 18 years old is still working like the day we bought it. I will never buy another Lane product again. Looking at LazyBoy and reading reviews on several other makes.

I bought a Lane recliner from Rooms to Go for $400 ten years ago. It finally broke after ten years.

I bought a new Lane Recliner for $500 from American Signature Home Store. I'd rather buy a new Lane every ten years than a new Lazy Boy for twice the price every 20 years. I guess it doesn't matter which you buy, because in the long run you pay the same either way.

If one is made in the U.S. and the other in China, then buy the one from the U.S.

My husband weighs a massive 139lbs. and our Lane recliner (his chair) looks terrible.

The seat is starting to sag and he had to fix the mechanism which broke. The chair is 3 years old.

I thought Poindexter must also work for Lane. Lane is definitely the low end for recliners.

Only other manufacturer I have experience with is LazyBoy. Our recliner is 18 years old and has gone through 3-4 times the abuse of the Lanes because of where it is located in the house.

Drawback is they are twice the price. You get what you pay for.

I purchased a Lane Recliner 11 years ago and for the most part have been extreemly pleased. I did replace the reclining mechanism a few years ago and it has not worked as well as the original mechanism.

I am currently searching for a new chair and want to purchase Lane again, but the models I see in the stores do not seem quite as sturdy. Can anyone recommend a good quality, sturdy, brand?

Guest

Poindexter must work for Lane.

I think his comment was immature, rude, and uncalled for.

Lane Quality

I purchased a Lane sofa and chair set. I selected leather for durability. Within a couple of months, the leather started cracking. Even after my strict effort in keeping the furniture clean and conditioned, it still continues to crack. Lane customer service provided NO service at all. I can see that they do not stand behind the quality they claim to provide. I wish I read reviews prior to our purchase. I have read that this happened to others also. The set was over $2000. I did not expect to have such a terrible looking piece of furniture for that price in only 3 years. I do not recommend Lane and will not buy Lane products.

Lane Furniture Will Let You Down

I spent over $2000.00 on a sofa, chair & ottoman, the frame is falling in, the pillows and cushions have collapsed & everywhere you look is staples that are falling out of the furniture. I wrote LANE and they want to send everything to fix it but will not pay for the labor. Common sense will tell you to purchase another LR suite & have the problem taken care of.Who wants to re-build a LANE sofa/chair that isn't NO GOOD anyway? Thumbs Down To LANE FURNITURE!!!! With the economy that we are living in, I suggest for people to pass LANE FURNITURE up, they do not stand behind their products !!!!

$700.00 Throne Out The Window

$700.00 Throne Out The Window.I have had my Lane recliner for 14 months and sense day one I have had trouble with it..I tried to get a refund 30 days after I purchased it and they well not give you a refund..They will only try to fix the problem. First of all the spring broke in the seat..three months later Lane sent out a repairman to reinforce the frame...He put three inch long bolt in each corner of the frame....Four mouths later the the reclining mechanism did not work right...Lane Tried to fix everything that went wrong with the recliner, but how can you fix somethings that was not built very well it the first place. Today (12/03/2010) is the last straw..The leaver on the side of the recliner for the foot rest broke off. I called Lane again...Now that the recliner is 14 months old, the Limited "Lifetime" Mechanism Warranty is only good for the parts. The labor will be $75.00 at the lest to come out to fix it again. I am not going to throw good money after bad...It is going the land field...I looks like something could be done to get your money back after you get a bad product..I have had Lazy Boy all of my life (60 years old) and when I tried to save a few dollars..I got burned bad $700.00 I could have got one of Lazy Boys best recliners for $900.00 Do not repeat do not buy any Lane Products if you do not want to hear"Told You So"

Lane recliners

I bought 2 recliners about a year ago,and one of them are broke and its just from use ,i have no kids,so it wasnt abused. I will not buy any of their furniture ever again...I thought i was getting a good deal when i got both recliners on sale and i thought it was a steal at $700.00 for both. Its a shame when you cant buy anything that will last a normal amount of time. Its seems we get riped off all the time no matter what it is, what happened to, they stand buy what they sell.?????
